Aregbesola Charges Nigerians on Extreme love, Tolerance...Says Continued Peace, Patience Remain Antidote To Nation's Predicament



The Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has admonished Nigerians on the need to prioritize peace above other interests.

Aregbesola identified love, patience, harmony and tolerance as the instruments needed among Nigerian people to curtail the present socioeconomic, political and religious anomalies bedeviling the country.

Governor Aregbesola gave the admonition while addressing the Muslims congregation in Osogbo during the special Ramadan lectures separately organized by Ahmadiyyah Muslim Jaamat of Nigeria and Afonta Muslim Community.

The Governor who described the present challenges in Nigeria as the toughest in her history, said the time has come for all and sundry to rededicate and seek the face of God.

He advocated God intervention on the nation's woes, just as he called on Nigerian people not to relent in prayers and supplication.

"In appreciating the present situation, we must rededicate ourselves in prayers. We must pray for our nation than ever before.

"We need to show love to one another while exercising patience with the present government.

"We all knew the genesis of the nation's economic woes, thus signals us on the need to support the government with prayers.

"We must brace up peace and as well tolerate ourselves as brothers and sisters for the nation to move forward", he said.

Governor Aregbesola who called on the religious leaders to strengthen efforts in putting the stability of the nation at hearts, saying their contributions remain sacrosanct to the country's prosperity.

He lamented over the serial events that led the country to economic comatose, said had the past administrations did the needful, the myriads of challenges facing the country would have been averted.

Aregbesola described religious institutions as vital sector that can never be over-emphasized in governance, said religious leaders had contributed greatly to the nation's development.

He enjoined the leadership of the existing religions to rededicate themselves, just as he charged them on fervent prayers for the nation especially at this period of economic imbroglio.

Aregbesola also called on the religious clerics to always exemplify the dictates of their religious, saying none of them should be found wanting in proclaiming the undisputed "Omoluabi ethos".

He therefore charged them on good character, noting that their presence on earth symbolize love, peace and tranquility.
