NO MORE DISCRIMINATION BETWEEN THE RICH AND POOR IN SCHOOL ENROLLMENT - AREGBESOLA

To whom much is given, much is expected. This remains most pertinent aphorism to quantify the tireless efforts- yielding outstanding strides being brought about by the present government in education system in the State of Osun.

Interesting, the landmark achievements of the current administration most especially in education and other notable sectors of the economy in the state under the leadership of Governor Rauf Aregbesola can never be overemphasized.

Apparently, it has become a sine qua non for the eyes that care for good things to without any iota of doubt acknowledge the tremendous moves and strategic initiatives of Governor Aregbesola in redefining, reforming, repositioning and resuscitating the already collapsed educational sector by uprooting the rot in education.

Convincingly, the genuineness, uncanny political acumen and sagacity of the current administration was in no doubt the product of geometric and soaring popularity being received in education coupled with wide acceptability from the state residents since assumption of office in 2010.

Governor Aregbesola, having convened education summit successfully, thereby declared emergency in the system and started implementing its communique and resolutions which rested in numberless of immense thrives currently on ground.

In his repository of intellect, the present administration which started its educational reformation with the reclassification, restructuring and renewal of obsolete systems in all levels, however embarked on total overhauling with the positive effect on both elementary, middle, high and tertiary education across the state.

To start with, Governor Aregbesola having applied his unprecedented elegant propensity into the key sectors of the economy, therefore initiated supportive educational measures aiming at bringing to light the award winning free meals for the pupils at elementary schools across the nooks and crannies of the state.

Governor Aregbesola's good intentions to eliminate the conspicuous dichotomy between the educational quality of riches and poors however didn't stop at that just as he put in place the needful infrastructures to aid smooth teaching and learning process.

The current administration was informed on the need to demolish some of the dilapidated structures of public schools and as well replace them with state-of-the-art facilities across both elementary, middle and high schools.

The gigantic efforts of Governor Aregbesola also witnessed another landmark in the quality of edifices building in the state.

Apparently, it is a known fact that the positive strides of the present government has increased geometrically the enrollment strengths of pupils and students in public schools, just as it had broken the jinx of equal accessibility to quality education between the children of the rich and the poor.

This gestures had also improved significantly the performances of both primary and secondary school leavers over the years.

The available reports had it that with the presence of educational facilities and learning gadgets in all the public schools, the state of Osun could without any sense of doubt compete favourably with any private school in the world.

Speaking on this development, a cross section of the state Public Schools Head Teachers who could not hide their impressions on the vast educational reformation brought about by the current government said, the state government has successfully effect the required changes in education system.

They saluted the state government for passionately fighting the protracted rots and decadence in education sector and as well promoting quality education of younger generations.

According to one of them, "spending much on education as being done by the current administration in Osun, is a huge sacrifice that must be commended because it remains a signal to the fact that the brighter future of younger generations means a priority to government.

"Similarly, the provision of the needful needs in terms of modern infrastructures, facilities as well as teaching and learning equipment as being made available by the present government in the state had helped and eased the process of teaching and learning", Mr. Biodun Agoola added.

However, one of the Public Elementary Schools' Teachers in the state who couldn't hold her excitement on this massive educational reformation, commended Governor Aregbesola for prioritizing education since inception.

The school teacher, Mrs. Adebola Ogunrinde said the myriads of innovation brought about by the current government has given public schools the befitting stand and position in the state.

She lauded the state government for its concerted efforts in turning around the state's economy for the betterment of all.

In her recent reaction, the Director, Osun Elementary School Feeding and Health Programme, O'MEALS, Mrs. Toyin Olubunmi Ayoola, said the free meals giving to pupils of public schools in the state had impacted positively on the acquisition of quality education.

Mrs. Ayoola who extolled the current government for the brilliant initiatives, said the programme had successfully provided seamless implementation of government's life-amelioration policies and programmes.

According to her, "with this noble initiative by Governor Rauf Aregbesola led administration in Osun State, there is no doubt that Osun will be a pacesetter and model among its peers in the world.

"By all standards, this scheme is aimed at repositioning education system just as government’s action plans which had been enshrined on the banishment of
poverty; banishment hunger and unemployment, as well as promotion of healthy living and functional education are on the verge of actualization.
