Workshop Fellowships on ‘Economic Empowerment of Women’ by MASHAV

Policy-makers, professionals and practitioners involved in socioeconomic development, as well as representatives ofwomen’s organizations are invited to apply for participation in the ‘Economic Empowerment of Women’ training workshop to be held from 25 August to 11 September 2014.

The program is launched by The Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MASHAV) and The Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center (MCTC) in cooperation with the United Nations Women Eastern & Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO).

The major objective of the training program is to contribute to women’s empowerment by exploring aspects of entrepreneurship as a contributor to income generation and employment.The participants will be exposed to the various aspects of planning, development and management of small businesses so that by the end of the workshop they will be able to facilitate the initiation, organization and management of small businesses effectively and profitably.

MASHAV covers tuition, board, lodging and excursions in Israel.The Program includes professional lectures and visits on the following subjectsEntrepreneurial Training – Business LaboratoriesMarketing and branding strategies for small businessesWomen in business networkingSupport systems in Israel and best practices in promoting innovative entrepreneurshipRural TourismNew trends in modern agriculture (technological advancements, nutritional concerns, water/energymanagement)

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be policy-makers, professionals and practitioners involved in socio-economic development, as well as representatives of women’s organizations.Applying candidates must hold an academic degree in related disciplines, and have at least five years of professional work experience in related fields.Applicant must have proficiency in English language.Application materials include- completed application form and medical form. Application must be sent to relevant Israeli mission by the deadline. Two additional copies of application documents must be sent via email.
