The Committee for Democracy and Rights of the People (CDRP) has called on the Federal Government to ensure that the handing over of the PHCN to private investors would be rewarding to all Nigerians. The committee made the call in a statement issued by Mr Saka Waheed, the acting National Coordinator of the group on Wednesday in Osogbo. It called on the Federal Government to consider the plight of ordinary Nigerians in the privatisation exercise, and expressed the hope that the taking over of the PHCN would not be to the detriment of Nigerians. The statement urged the government to consider the ``poor masses’’ who had been receiving arbitrary electricity bills. It also urged the Federal Government to pay the severance allowance and exit package of all electricity workers, stressing that the payment of all their entitlements should be without further delay.
