The Politics and Effect of Oyinlola's Suspension.- Segun Amure Saint

It's unfortunate that the more you put sentiments in ironing out ur respective points, the messier the party finds itself and the stronger the opposition is waxing.

Olagunsoye Oyinlola to me hasn't in anyway err in politics. His emergence as the PDP Gubernatorial flag bearer is mainly nothing but the making of God,the late veteran politician, Chief S.M Afolabi and Alh. Fatai Akibade. Otherwise, Oyinlola might have probably been elected as a Senator if God wished.

In 2003, Alh. Gani Olaoluwa's contribution (if any) wouldn't have been so significant in Osun politics then. Alh. Gani Olaoluwa has no relevance in Osun politics prior to his emergence as LG chairman, courtesy of Oyinlola's magnanimity. It's crystal clear that if Gani didn't become an LG chairman under Oyinlola, by now, he may haven't get any audacity to ever think of becoming PDP Local Chairman not to talk of State Chairman. Politically, I've not seen how Oyinlola betrayed any other aspirants to become the National secretary in the first instance. His emergence wasn't in any form doctored. The congress was successfully conducted and popularly televised on National TVs.

Be reminded that Oyinlola had settled for the Law school as soon as he lost his governor's seat in Osun. If Oyinlola decline the Secretariship offer from his colleagues in Governors Forum whose onus of nominating the party's scribe fell, it didn't mean that Osun could ever have the slot at all. Another person could have been nominated by the PDP Governors Forum outside Osun State.

Oyinlola's loss of Secretariship seat is political. He was a victim of multi political intrigues. His loss of Governorship seat as well as the national secretariship are all politically motivated. It was because of his principled stance and suspicion to oppose Jonathan's 2015 reelection bid. But in reality, do you know how many party members that suffer this foolish decisions of GEJ in Osun State and South West in general? Do you people know how many political opportunities that went off as soon as we lost the November 26, 2010 Appeal at Ibadan? Over 30 Chairmanship seats, 335 Councillors, Scores of commissioners, Board members etc?

Same has transcended to GEJ's Executive cabinet in the last Federal Executive Council's meeting only last week, where Nine Federal Ministers unexpectedly lost their covet appointments not because they hadn't perform in their respective ministry but the were discarded for the sole political reason of employing the Pro GEJ 2015 to the cabinet to form not the official cabinet but what I could call 'Election Cabinet'. Therefore, the fear of GEJ 2015 is the beginning of wisdom for all national political appointees.

Hence, the powers that made Oyinlola as PDP's scribe, lunched their protest against the powers that removed him which led to the broken of the hitherto mammoth-size party. Oyinlola is also politically and morally right to have come home to uncover the crux of the political war in which his involvement is central. It is true that the crowd of Oyinlola's followers last Sunday is a threat to his political adversaries. The crowd was unprecedented in Osun PDP history. As a good leader, he owes his followers, an obligation to that effect. Let Jonathan and his sycophantic stooge chairman (Tukur) do same by addressing the party members across the country on the state of the party, rather than these limitless 'Sanctions, Suspensions, Injunctions etc'. Oyinlola shouldn't have been expected to keep silent while his adversaries are calling him names for him to be hanged.

As a close observer of Oyinlola's contemporary political steps, I would have upheld Alh. Gani Olaoluwa's suspension of his benefactor(Oyinlola) and his massive loyalists, if Oyinlola had on his visit to Okuku declared a parallel party in Osun. Oyinlola didn't do this but rather calm his enthusiasts down and pleaded to his innumerable followers across the state to maintain calmness and said the turbulence would soon be thing of the past. He repeatedly shout 'PDP! Power to the people! While his address lasted. What else could he do?

Suspension of Oyinlola and his prime loyalists across the state wouldn't in any way help the party in a state where we are opposition, but only make more conspicuous, our inseriousness and folly. However, this is not to say that I don't understand that the ill thought suspension is not Gani's making but acting a script from 'Oga at the top' and their spies in Osun all in defence of his coveted political seat and to establish his loyalty to his 'Oga at the top'.

However, I do know that, if these problems are not quickly managed and put behind, its enough to kill the party not only in the Osun state but also nationally,as the party is daily losing more supporters within the Nigeria electorates circle. If these 'galatian' political gladiators who have been feeding fat on the party since its inception do not in good time bury their hatchets and put in place, a sincere reconciliatory mechanism on ground, hunmm! They should expect the unimaginable! And those of you that are dancers to the rhythms of the war beat and song would soon know that wherever two elephants fight, it's the grasses that suffer and cries headache. Once again,

It is though not only unfortunate but also painful that our political warriors in PDP's war front have wastefully engaging all our strenght and resources meant to fight our common enemies to fight themselves. This is nothing than a 'SPELL' which Yoruba calls 'EDI'. I say let the selfish political warriors rise to mend the torn Umbrella for the whirlwind rainfall is threatening, before the Broom family members and worshipers sings victory song. The longer the rancor in the house, the weaker and messier the PDP and stronger the APC and the more Raufool become Rauwise. Let those that have hears listen to the epistle of paul to the church! And before I leave I like to say Blessed are those that sustenance of their family are not anchored on politics!......Shalom!
