Taraba State: CDRP Backs Falana On Ailing Suntai ...Blames PDP For Political Impunity in Taraba

A leading human rights group in Nigeria,Committee for Democracy and Rights of the People(CDRP) has declared its support for the position of  the Lagos- based lawyer and human rights activist,Barrister Femi Falana,SAN on the ailing governor of Taraba State, Mr Danbaba Suntai with on going political impunity in the State.

However, Barrister Falana has declared yesterday that the Wednesday purported  dissolution of  Taraba State cabinet by ailing Suntai was illegal, null and void, maintaining that all efforts by the Acting Governor, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, the Director of State Security Service and Commissioner of Police of Taraba State to meet with the Governor have been turned down by his captors because of the fact that he is not in a mental and good position to recognize anyone.

The group also blamed the ruling Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) for not speaking up on the ongoing political impunity in Taraba State, stressing that the party would cause set back for the present democratic governance with their undemocratic bahaviour.

Speaking through its Acting National Coordinator,Comrade Saka Waheed, in a statement which was made available to newsmen in Osogbo yesterday, urged the President Goodluck Jonathan Led-Federal Government, National Assembly and Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to speak up on the Taraba State fierce in connection with Suntaigate in order to save our hard earned democracy.

Comrade Waheed insisted that Mr Suntai lacks mental and physical capability to rule the State again and Suntai should be allowed to face his health problem instead of putting him into another problem of health crisis because of selfish interest.
