PRESS STATEMENT
SUBSIDY REMOVAL: ECOMOMIC
TERRORISM AGAINST NIGERIANS
The Committee for Democracy and Rights
of the People [CDRP] hereby against in totality the proposed withdrawal of fuel
subsidy by the federal government, it is unacceptable and ill-conceived as it
will worsen the condition of already critically impoverish and frustrated
citizen of our nation.
CDRP also view the
utterance of President Jonathan and Mrs Okonjo Iweala as not only undemocratic
but also an act of economic terrorism against Nigerians, indeed Mrs Iweala as
the head of Nigeria economic team speaks more as an agent of international
financial agency than a super minister who was appointed to proffer an economic
policy that will make life more abundant for our teeming populace.
CDRP therefore urge the
Federal government to rescind the decision to remove fuel subsidy, and start
the construction of the three new refineries as promised during Independence
Day broadcast otherwise CDRP will resist any policy that will further
impoverish our people.
