The reason for this blog is borne out of a twitter friend with bio "billionaire" and also the entrant of the NO 1 Billionaire in Africa, Alh. Aliko Dangote into the twitter world.
The billionaire Aliko within hours on twitter got thousands of followers even without a single tweet, such was the commanding height of people's eagerness to follow billionaires even without any corresponding value added service !
Trust the "guys", they quickly created a parody account to scam unsuspecting tweeps who are fallen over themselves to probably curry the favour of the man who control every government and business in Nigeria. Despite Japhet Omojuwa exposition of the fake Aliko Dangote account, some people are still begging the handle to enlist them into the obvious scam!
May I quickly add here that, Aliko Dangote may be a business guru, one with a fabled midas touch, but he is a verified wanabee on twitter, Aliko one tweet since he joined twitter justified he is a certified wanabee !
By the way, what is the craze to follow a billionaire on twitter? It simply shows that we are as corrupt and greedy as those we criticises on daily basis, we are what yoruba people called "Olojukokoro" younger brother of thief. How on earth will I follow a useless handle even if such handle belong to Carlos Slim. Is it not better to follow an ordinary citizen with a functional handle than a billionaire with one tweet ?
I never envy Aliko, not even any members of Nigeria billionaires club, they may be happy on the surface, they are carrying enormous moral burden, they know they are billionaires on the blood and sweat of Nigerians, they may add philantropy to their overbloated curriculum vitae, but in their heart of heart, they all know what they are doing "collecting illegally, ten with left hand and giving out one charity with right hand" or simply put "robbing the entire country to help negligible few".
In critical sense, it is very easy for a camel to travel through the eyes of needle, than to find a legitimate billionaire in this part of the world, if they are not collecting subsidy without lifting a litre of fuel, they will be removing railway slippers to sustain their transport company, if they are not conniving with rogue custom officers, they are buying Government properties at cheape, in fact only our billionaire will buy our properties with our money in their own names, they call the illegalities, shrewd business!
Shamelessly, they parade themselves as businessmen unknown to many they are criminal CEOs, their companies are bluechips, but they are nothing but bluechips conglomerates of underhand dealings, such is the sorry case of our latter day billionaires!
Some of them are always ready to tell us how they started small, but they will never tell us the first criminal jackpot they won via our commonwealth, they are ready to tell us how they keep expanding, but they will never tell us the corporate blackmail used to send their rival out of the market, they are ready to tell us they are sleepless all night to sustain their conglomerates, but they will never tell us how much they bribe the power that be, to monopolise the market.
The illegit billionaires are ethnic blind, their sole aim is more money even at micro seconds time, and their businesses depends more on strategy and tactic to outwit the government and people, for them social media is a waste of time, they depend on other things than using twitter to drive their business, but above all they are reflection of our corrupt society.
Finally, people should not be so overwhelmed by Aliko Dangote aura to fall for the parody account, a word they say, is enough for the wise!
