Religious Services
The Committee for Democracy and Rights of the People(CDRP) in
collaboration with June12 Coalition Nigeria has commenced this year
19th annual June 12,1993 Presidential election comemoration with
Msulim and Christian prayers.
This was contained in a press statement issued and signed by its
National Coordinator,Comrade Amitolu Shittu which a copy was made
available to newsmen in Osogbo,the Osun State capital
yesterday,stated that the week long programme will commence with
religious service of Muslim prayer on Friday 8th of June,2012 at
Salahudeen Memorial Mosque,opposite SUBEB junction,along Gbongan
Road,Osogbo while the Church service will hold on Sunday 10th June,
2012 at All Saints Church,Balogun Agoro,Osogbo to pray for Nigeria
,Osun State and all other heroes who died in the cause of the struggle
for justice and democracy in Nigeria.
The grand finale of the annual event will feature the
lecture/symposium with the theme: "Corruption and Future of Democracy
in Nigeria,Any Hope? and to be delivered by Dr Osagie Obayuwana,the
Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice,Edo State and Dr.Ife
Adewumi,the Chairman,Academic Staff Union of University(ASUU),Obafemi
Awolowo University(OAU),Ile-Ife chapter..
The symposium will be held at Osogbo City hall,Olonkoro,osogbo under
the chairmanship of the Chief Of Staff to Governor Rauf
Aregbesola,Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola and the Speaker of the State House
of Assembly,Honourable Najeem Salaam will serve as Special Guest of
Honour and the duo of the state Deputy governor,Otunba Grace Titi
Laoye Tomori and Alhaji Moshood Adeoti will be the Principal Guest of
Honour and Gust of Honour respectively while the Executive Governor of
the State,Governor Rauf Aregbesola will be the chief Host.
Other personalities expected include,Kaduna based Civil Rights
Crusader, Mallam Sheu Sanni, and immediate past Speaker of the State
House of Assembly,Honourable Adejare Bello.
